Sakiyama Takahiro (崎山 高博) is a Japanese video game developer and designer who works at Konami Digital Entertainment. He currently serves as the IP and game director for the Suikoden series.[1][2] Sakiyama has been involved with the Suikoden franchise since the development of Suikoden V (2006).

Career

Sakiyama joined Konami by the early 2000s and held various roles on multiple projects. His first directorial credit was on the Game Boy Advance shooter Silent Scope (2002).[3] He later moved into console RPG development; in 2006 he directed the PlayStation 2 game Suikoden V.[3] In addition to directing Suikoden V, Sakiyama provided the Japanese voice for the character Norden in that game. In 2008 he served as lead planner on the Nintendo DS title Suikoden Tierkreis.[3]

Over time, Sakiyama became the principal steward of the Suikoden intellectual property. He is listed as the series’ IP and game director, overseeing the franchise’s direction.[1][2] He led the development of the Suikoden I&II HD Remaster (released March 2025) and has been involved in the new mobile game Suikoden STAR LEAP. In these projects he supervised the preservation and updating of classic Suikoden content for modern platforms.

Sakiyama’s other Konami credits include work on the Silent Scope series (special thanks on Silent Scope 2), the rhythm game beatmania IIDX 11: IIDX RED, and the sports title Wi-El: World Soccer.
