Gavaya (ガヴァヤ, Gavuaya) is a supporting character in Suikoden V. Gavaya is an exceedingly desperate ax-wielder, searching for a wife as he travels the world.
History
Gavaya is an unrivaled womanizer who travels the world with the singular purpose of finding a wife. He earns a living by fighting as a mercenary and prize fighter, being renowned in fighting tournament circles. In it from these tournament appearances that he became acquainted with both Hazuki and Nikea, who rejected his advances in short order. Although he is uncouth and carried himself with a somewhat savage appearance, he had a policy of never fighting women, withdrawing from tournaments if he was drawn against them.
He would journey to the Queendom of Falena in order to win the Sacred Games and marry Princess Lymsleia Falenas but he was rejected from the tournament due to his being a native of the New Armes Kingdom, despite his lack of affinity for his homeland. He would later come across the Prince of Falena surrounded by beautiful women in Raftfleet and reasoning that an army filled with such woman who pay dividends to his search for a wife, begged to join the Imperial City Recapture Army.
Following the Sun Rune War, Gavaya would set out on a journey to the Island Nations Federation, continuing his search for a wife, seemingly unable to understand that quality matters more than quantity.
