Fuwalafuwalu (フワラフワル, Fuwarafuwaru) is a supporting character in Suikoden V. Fuwalafuwalu is the elderly, by beaver standards, leader of Beaver Lodge.
History
Fuwalafuwalu was the elder of Beaver Lodge during the Sun Rune War. By this point, he was very advanced in years, with his hair covering his eyes and mouth completely. As a conservative leader, he tried as much as possible to avoid conflict with the humans in Falena and tried to remain neutral through the Sun Rune War.
Despite his overall desire to isolate the beavers from Falenan politics, Fuwalafuwalu felt great guilt for their role in Lordlake's troubles; the inhabitants of Beaver Lodge were placed into forced labor by the Godwin Faction in order to construct Hatred Fortress following the Lordlake riots. That is why, despite his nervousness regarding cooperation with humans, Fuwalafuwalu helped formulate a plan to destroy Hatred Fortress in order to restore water to Lordlake. With the help of the beavers, the plan was a success and Lordlake's burden was lifted. Still, Fuwalafuwalu refused to join the Prince of Falena in his fight, as he did not want to get further involved in human politics.
This would change once Marscal Godwin attempted to eradicate the beavers using Nether Gate because in order to build a 'Falena for Falenans'. Thankfully, the beaver population was spared annihilation thanks to the efforts of the Imperial City Recapture Army. Following the attack, Fuwalafuwalu agreed that trying to hide from human problems only left the beavers vulnerable and so decided to fight with the Prince with the support of the other beavers.
Although Fuwalafuwalu was old by beaver standards, his father was even older and passed away after the age of 50. His father even managed to meet the legendary 'Boss' (Genoh). Fuwalafuwalu's father also conducted trade with Sairoh, when he was elder of Beaver Lodge. Fuwalafuwalu was also one of the few beavers at Ceras Lake who understood human language and could write letters. He often wrote for Genoh, whom he respected as the legendary 'Boss'. He often feared for the beavers during the war as he worried about their lack of experience in warfare, but they acquitted themselves well, especially in naval battles where they were able to gnaw at enemy hulls with superb efficiency.
Fuwalafuwalu passed away soon after the end of the war. He was over 30 years old. He was succeeded by Maroon and his siblings.
