History

I always thought good things would happen to me if I followed you. I'm such a fool!

— Roget

Roget was a young magician of considerable ability who once served under Iskas, a prominent figure among the Kooluk Empire’s Patriarchal Faction.[1] Two years after the Island Liberation War, he appeared as a commander of the Patriarchal Faction and confronted Kyril and his allies, participating in operations such as the attempted theft of Rune Cannons from the Nest of Pirates.[3]

Though Roget carried out his duties with sincerity, he privately harbored doubts about the actions of the Patriarchal Faction. He remained obedient out of loyalty to his position rather than conviction.[4]

His misgivings were confirmed during the battle at the Imperial City of Graska, where he failed to meet Iskas’s expectations. Viewing him as a disposable pawn, Iskas quickly abandoned him, leaving him at the mercy of the fishmen Iskas ordered him to summon beyond his capabilities to control.

Roget, who had already suspected his expendable status, did not hesitate to turn against his former superior once discarded.[2] After being cast aside, Roget was persuaded by Kyril’s group and chose to join their cause, effectively renouncing the Patriarchal Faction and aligning himself against Iskas.[3]

Despite his sharp tongue, he proved to be earnest and straightforward in nature. He displayed respect toward capable magicians such as Maxine and Jeane, who welcomed him into their ranks for his proven magical skill.[2] He also played a role in tempering the darker temperaments of Andarc and Coop, acting as a stabilizing influence within the group[1] and spent time talking with Simone as well.

His actions following the collapse of the Kooluk Empire are undocumented.
