The True Wind Rune (真なる風の紋章, Shin naru Kaze no Monshō) is one of the 27 True Runes. It is the rune of Luc and it appears in Suikoden III. It is also mentioned in Suikoden.
Information
The True Wind Rune is one of the five elemental True Runes and governs the wind. As such, it is the parent rune of both the Wind Rune and the Cyclone Rune.
It was borne by Luc, the apprentice of Leknaat. Luc was created as a copy of Hikusaak, leader of the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia, in order to carry the True Rune.
Along with powerful battle magic, the True Wind Rune could also be used to summon golems and was used for teleportation purposes. Luc rarely used the rune but during the Dunan Unification War, the rune's terrible power was called up in the battle against Luca Blight in order to obliterate the reinforcements from the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia, who were aiding the Highland Army at that time.
As Luc continued to carry the rune, his soul would become intertwined with it, allowing him to see visions of the Gray World, the True Wind Rune's memories of the future. Desperate to avert this future, Luc would attempt to destroy the True Wind Rune, igniting the War of the Champions in the process. Following his defeat, the location of the rune is unknown.

- Any time Luc refers to his "Wind Rune" in the first Suikoden, he is actually using the True Wind Rune. The Japanese script reflects this.
