Gonbosren (ゴンボスレン, Gonbosuren) is a main character in Genso Suikoden Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki. He is a scalehorde armorer eagerly working and tinkering away on his armor.
History

Gonbosren was an affable scalehorde armorer and part of Jagwans' scalehorde group living in the Apiro Desert. As scalehorde had no need for armor, his work was usually designed with humans in mind. Using materials and processes that humans don't, Gonbosren's pieces were quite unique. As such, his work often fetches a high price among patrons.
Though his affable and laid-back manner and speech may have led some to dismiss him as unintelligent, Gonbosren was highly intelligent when it came to his craft. He could extrapolate entire pieces of armor and hypothetical crafting methods from the slightest physical evidence.
The hero was first introduced to Gonbosren while passing through the Behemoth Grave. Gonbosren would ask the hero to bring him any interesting looking bones for his armor crafting. After finding such a bone, the hero would bring it to Gonbosren and he would agree to join the Company in gratitude, excited at the prospect of preparing armor for so many humans.
The bone shard then sparked the knowledge of a new form of crafting in his mind. This revealed Gonbosen to be a Starbearer. As such, he was able to learn Dagzuma's ice armor technique and also from Sau Jin's notes left at Zephtelos Fortress. He was also able to learn further techniques from Ketil's notes, that Sunil discovered in her belongings.
Following the fall of the barrier, Gonbosren skills saw him recruited for the building of a migrant fleet. He was only too happy to help as he found it even more interesting than armor.
