Overview

Chris Lightfellow and Nash Clovis arrived at the Sindar Ruins where Wyatt Lightfellow may await them. The demoralized Grasslanders march from Chisha Village while the Harmonian Army begin their occupation. Caesar has Mua and Hallec attempt to buy time with a fake truce while he tries to persuade the Grasslanders to follow his advice: flood the Duck Clan lands to stymie the Harmonian advance and ally with Zexen.

Meanwhile, Hugo journeys with Aila and Geddoe's crew to Chisha. His despondency over everything that has happened to the Karaya Clan frustrates Aila to the point of tears. Their journey is interrupted by a giant crab attack. Futch, Sharon, and Bright help to defeat the beast but also bring the news that Chisha has fallen. The group decide to split up, the Karayans will go with the Dragon Knights to Duck Village, while the SFDF will attempt to gather information in Chisha.

At Budehuc Castle, Thomas' efforts are paying off with more and more people moving in. However, Percival and Leo turn up with orders from Thomas' father, Lowma; Thomas is to attend a hearing as to his eligibility as lord of Budehuc. At Brass Castle he meets Salome who takes his measure and then offers to secure his position in exchange for an alliance.

Chris and Nash navigate the ruins while Wyatt faces off against the Masked Man. The Masked Man reveals his motives: to prevent the world from falling into complete Order. The two battle fiercely but the Masked Man's True Wind Rune overcomes Wyatt who is fatally wounded. The Masked Man is forced to retreat with Chris' arrival and she inherits Wyatt's True Water Rune. Afterwards, Nash departs for Harmonia to report on what occurred.

The Destroyers meet with both the Masked Man and Sarah and Yuber reporting their failures. Sarah reveals that a tactician has offered to aid them. His identity revealed, Luc vows to continue on his path, no matter what.
