Ufred (ウフレッド, Ufureddo) is a supporting character in Genso Suikoden Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki. Ufred is a Martylion aristocrat aiming to secure independence from the Holy Empire of Ionia.

History

What value is an army that cannot protect the people?! That is the reason I wish for independence from the Yggdrasilian Throne!

—  Ufred

Ufred was a nobleman from Martylion who was also a master of the martial arts. He trained in the martial arts as he held the philosophy that those who would lead the people, such as the aristocracy, should also lead in combat. As such, he trained at Hodos Village and fought against the Teras Pharma himself.

He believed in the cause of Martylion independence and Ufred was noted in history as being a main driver behind the growing independence of Ionia's frontier tributaries. Ufred was able to immediately believe that the hero was from a future where the frontier regions were nominally independent, due to his manner and style of dress. After talking with Odo, he would readily agree to help train the force's martial artists.

Following the fall of the barrier, Ufred journeyed west, leading the Martylion migrant caravan.
