Old Books (ふるい本, Furui Hon) are a collectable item in Suikoden. They can be found across the land and given over to the player's library, allowing them to read their contents.
Information
These books containing various kinds of knowledge were found in many different places. Handwritten and woodblock books are commonly very expensive, but these works were apparently donated from various quarters as reference material and collections for the Toran Liberation Army library. They contain materials related to history, politics, trade, and other subjects.
Locations
There are a total of nine volumes of books scattered around the Toran region. If the player hands them over to Hugo at Toran Castle, they will be able to read the contents of the books in the castle library.
Vol.9 can be read by placing the cursor on Old Book Vol.8 and pressing the ◻⭕︎△⨯ buttons simultaneously while volumes 1-8 are in the library.
