The Ancient Crab (古代ガニ, Kodaigani) is a fixed boss enemy in Suikoden IV. It can be fought on the Deserted Island after the Regaining Razril naval battle. Unusually for a boss encounter it respawns every time the player leaves the island.

Information

This giant crab, a survivor of ancient times, appeared atop the hills of the Deserted Island. Its strong shell offered it enhanced defenses which could not be penetrated by half-hearted attacks. Even strong wind magic would be like a soft breeze to this shell.

Its pincers were powerful, as was the flames it could breathe from its mouth. Still, those flames also gave a clue to its weakness, a large weakness to water magic. It is said that any who can defeat this Ancient Crab will find a large amount of potch as well as perhaps a Giant Crab's Shell.
