Extreme Close Up!!

The Binoculars (遠めがね, tōmegane) are an item used by Ivanov in his studies of subjects for his work. He would use these to observe members of the Toran Liberation Army in battle from afar as subjects for his painting.

After completing his painting at Toran Castle as part of his quest to explore 'freedom' through the use of colors and his art, Ivanov gave McDohl the binoculars, stating that he didn't need them any longer.

Trivia

  • In the original PS1 release of Suikoden, the binoculars allows the player to manipulate the camera angle during battles by using the second player controller on the console. In the HD Remaster, the player can instead use the right analog stick on their controller of choice.
