The Knight's Oath (騎士の誓, Kishi no Chikai) ceremony is a Highlander ceremony performed in Suikoden II.
Information

The Knight's Oath was a name used for the wedding ceremony that welcomed the groom into the Highland royal family.
The name comes from the tradition of the groom acting as the knight of the Princess. The ceremony involves the mixing of the groom's blood into a wine, the Wine of Fealty, which is then drunk by the king as part of the ceremony, symbolizing the groom's blood being added to the royal line. It was only allowed to be viewed by said knight, his king, and a single witness.
During the Dunan Unification War, Luca Blight and Jowy Atreides used this tradition to assassinate King Agares by having Jowy poison his own blood, having the effects suppressed by regular antitoxin doses, and then using said blood to poison Agares.
