Senan (セナン Senan) is a region of the Toran Republic, and its predecessor, the Scarlet Moon Empire. It is the site of the nation's northern defenses.
In gameplay guides, etc. for the first Suikoden, it is often referred to as the "Moravia Castle region" or "Area H", as the eighth portion of the world map the player can access.
Overview
Senan is a mostly empty region, lying to the north of the Sadhna Stream. It is defended internally by the Northern Checkpoint to the south. Moravia Castle provides the bulk of the region's defenses, with the Fortresses of Duha and Rakan also providing security to the region.
The region, along with Dana, is usually referred to simply as "the north" or the "Karakas Desert" in the Toran Republic and as "Senan" in the City-States of Jowston. The Karakas Desert is located in Senan and makes up about 70% of the region. Outside of the Karakas Desert, Senan tends to have a mild, temperate climate.
The walls that extend into the desert have existed before the founding of the Scarlet Moon Empire. It is theorized that they were built by the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia. The infamous Red Wind blows through a large portion of the region.
