Schmidt (シュミット, Shumitto) is a character in Genso Suikoden Short Story Collection 1. He was a general of the Scarlet Moon Empire who conspired with Geil Rugner to usurp the throne from Barbarosa Rugner.

History

Schmidt was a notable general of the Scarlet Moon Empire who served under the direct command of Geil Rugner during the War of Succession. Renowned for his distinct silver armor, Schmidt was recognized on the battlefield for wielding a battle-axe.

During the conflict, when General Teo McDohl sought to march towards Gregminster, he encountered Schmidt and his formidable force of 2,000 mounted cavalry, backed by another 1,000-strong cavalry unit from Bergen. This confrontation took place at the Fortress of Kwaba.

Schmidt aimed to hinder General Teo's advance by using Assam's scheme of kidnapping Teo's son and holding him hostage. The intention was to force Teo into battle without his famed Armored Cavalry. However, the plan was foiled when Teo's son was successfully rescued, leading to the continuation of the battle.

Schmidt's forces displayed bravery on the battlefield, but their approach proved to be reckless, leading to their defeat in the encounter against General Teo's forces.
