The Trial of Disinheritance (廃嫡裁判, Haichaku Saiban) was an event that took place prior to the first Suikoden game. It helped spark the War of Succession crisis.
Information
The Trial of Disinheritance was a legal proceeding to challenge the legitimacy of the newly crowned Emperor Barbarossa and abolish his right to the throne. The Geil Rugner faction, aided by judiciary Assam in the courts, initiated this trial in the absence of Barbarossa and his supporters.
With a stacked court, the ruling to depose Barbarossa was passed in only 30 minutes. The reaction by Barbarossa to this attempted coup would spark a civil war, the War of Succession.
