Wyvern (ワイバーン, Waibān) is an enemy which appears in Suikoden.

Wyvern are among the stronger enemies you'll encounter at Seek Valley. With all round high stats as well as a breath attack that hits all party members, Wyvern can do significant damage to an unprepared party.

Information

This winged beast breathes fire and cold air from its mouth, killing all foes in the area. It boasts of high physical and magical power, and is said to have tormented many a skilled adventurer.

Wyverns were often equated with dragons because of their similar appearance but they did possess the comparatively advanced intelligence of a dragon. However, like dragons, they were powerful beasts that boasted high vitality and magical power.

Etymology

The wyvern is an offshoot of the dragon. Its main distinguishing feature when compared to the dragon is that wyvern have no arms or forward legs. Depending on the myth, wyverns can breathe fire and/or possess a venomous bite. They frequently appear in heraldry.
