Zamji (ザムジー, Zamujī) is a character who appears in Genso Suikoden Short Story Collection 1. He is a fomer soldier now running an inn in South Window City.

History

Zamji, once a member of South Window City's prestigious military unit, the Black Lions, met an unfortunate fate when an injury to his left foot compelled him to retire from active duty. As a result, he walked with a noticeable limp, his left leg dragging behind him. However, undeterred by this setback, Zamji transitioned to a new path in life, becoming an innkeeper and establishing the Lion's Fang Inn in South Window City.

His formidable appearance, characterized by shorn hair and a somewhat fearsome face, belied his warm and hearty personality. Despite his stern exterior, Zamji was a devoted family man, blessed with a loving wife and a seven-year-old daughter. He had a stocky build and a tanned, sallow complexion, a testament to his past as a skilled warrior.

It was during the time of Neclord's attack on North Window that Zamji's life intersected with the vagabond Viktor, who had been despondent due to the destruction of his hometown. Displaying his innate sense of compassion and camaraderie, Zamji rescued Viktor from a bar brawl and offered him refuge at the Lion's Fang Inn. Through his genuine care and support, Zamji played a vital role in helping Viktor heal emotionally from the devastating events he had experienced.

Approximately six months later, Zamji's involvement in uncovering a dangerous conspiracy would prove instrumental. His military connections proved invaluable when he assisted Viktor and Anabelle in unearthing the treacherous plot orchestrated by weapons merchants seeking to incite conflict between South Window and Two River City. Despite his old war injury, Zamji showcased his formidable spear skills during the raid on the conspirator's hideout, dispatching two foes simultaneously, all while cleverly using the length of his spear to protect his injured leg.

Having successfully unveiled the conspiracy and averted potential calamity, Zamji returned to his role as the proprietor of the Lion's Fang Inn. There, he continued to extend his hospitality and provide a welcoming haven for travelers and locals alike.
