—  Leknaat

Leknaat is a blind seer who survived the massacre of the Clan of the Gate by forces from the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia. She and her clan sister, Windy, used the power of the Gate Rune in order to escape[1]. Leknaat and Windy each took one half of the Gate Rune, Leknaat receiving the "back" or "exit" half of the rune in her chest[2].

Windy, eager to gain more power, attempted to gain the back half of the Gate Rune from Leknaat[3]. Leknaat isolated herself on Magician's Island, setting up defences and waiting for the arrival of someone who could aid her in defeating her sister[4]. Leknaat also became the Seer of the Scarlet Moon Empire, preparing Astral Conclusions for them[5] and took on an apprentice, Luc.

During the Gate Rune War, Leknaat met Tir McDohl, an Imperial Guard messenger who had come for the Astral Conclusions. Leknaat, upon meeting the young man, took an interest in the officer. Leknaat appeared before Tir following the Toran Liberation Army's acquisition of Toran Castle bearing two gifts for him: the Stone Tablet of Promise, which would aid Tir in the recruitment of allies and Luc, a new recruit for the Toran Liberation Army.

During the Gate Rune War, Leknaat appeared before Tir again; once following the First Battle with Teo and again immediately prior to the last battle of the Gate Rune Wars. Both times Leknaat consoled Tir and urged him to continue on with his battle[6][7]. During this second meeting, Leknaat used the power of her rune as well as the 108 Stars to resurrect Gremio, magic so powerful that it could only be performed once[8].

Leknaat helped Tir in the army's final battle by removing the monsters Windy had summoned in order to bolster Gregminster's defences with the help of Joshua Levenheit[9].

Following the end of the Gate Rune War, Leknaat moved away from Magician's Island with Luc[10], passing on her role as seer to Hellion[11].
