Old Books (ふるい本, Furui Hon) are a collectable item in Suikoden II. They can be found across the land and given over to the player's library, allowing them to read their contents.

These books containing various kinds of knowledge were found in many different places. Handwritten and woodblock books are commonly very expensive, but these works were apparently donated from various quarters as reference material and collections for the New Alliance Army library. They contain materials related to history, politics, trade, and other subjects.
Locations
There are a total of 12 volumes of books scattered around the Dunan region. If the player hands them over to Emilia at New Alliance Army Headquarters, they will be able to read the contents of the books in the castle library.
