The Kite Rune (トンビの紋章, Tonbi no Monshō) is an attack rune which appears in Suikoden II, Suikoden III, and Suikoden V.
This rune could only be used by those wielding shuriken weapons, or similar weapons like darts. This rune allowed the bearer to expand their attack range, throwing their projectiles at all enemies, by improving their leaping and handling abilities. Still, the less concentrated attack meant less damage would be dealt to each individual foe.

The black kite, to which this rune's name refers, is a medium-sized bird of prey and one of the most populous in the world, especially concentrated around South Asia. It is similar to the shrike, which also has a ninja-related rune named after it.
