Rune Unites (合体魔法, gattai mahō, combination magic) is a form of magic casting in many games of the Suikoden series.
Information
The five attributes of fire, thunder, water, wind, and earth are called the Five Elements in rune studies. At advanced levels these five attributes can be combined in certain ways, giving access to highly powerful spells. Such spells seen during the Gate Rune War and Dunan Unification War were Scorched Earth (Fire + Earth), Blade Fury (Earth + Wind), Water Dragon (Wind + Water), Hammer of Thor (Water + Lightning), and Blazing Array (Lightning + Fire).
The magician Crowley has been cited as the discover of rune unites, though it is possible that the technique has been independently found across the world at various times.
