History
|
Liu Mei was the daughter of Liu Shao, who was famed as a master duelist in his homeland. Her mother died while Liu Mei was young and so her father was her only family. One day, Liu Shao was killed in a duel and his body returned to his daughter.
As a teenager, Liu Mei had a round face and large, dark eyes. She was slender and lacking in muscle for someone pursuing the martial arts.
She dressed as a local swordsman, wearing a white robe with a leather breastplate and hand guards. Genshu would estimate her age as around fifteen or sixteen years old.
Since then, taking his beloved sword as her own, Liu Mei swore to gain revenge on her father's killer after hearing Hong Long claiming credit for the deed. She would eventually encounter Genshu in Ling Hua Town and would pester him repeatedly in an attempt to become his student.
Rebuffed by Genshu, she would leave despondent and challenge Hong Long without his tutelage. Though she fought well, Hong Long's unscrupulous ways gave him the upper hand before Genshu intervened.
After defeating Hong Long, Genshu revealed that he had been to one to kill Liu Mei's father and encouraged her to complete her revenge to him, but feeling her father's voice through his sword, she refused to finish him off. Realizing that hatred produced nothing of value, she put away her sword.
This echoing of his brother, Tesshu's last words would be what finally pushed Genshu to sheath his own sword and move forward with his life. The two would never meet again.
