Liu Shao (リュウシャオ, Ryuushao) is a character who appears in Genso Suikoden Short Story Collection 4. He was an acclaimed swordsman from a foreign country.

A skilled duelist from the same nation Ling Hua Town is located in, Liu Shao raised Liu Mei as a single parent when his wife died shortly after giving birth. He was once acclaimed as the best duelist in the country, drawing the enmity of Hong Long.
Hong Long would hire Genshu in secret to kill Liu Shao in a duel. Recognizing Genshu's dark and despairing nature, he would try to convince the Iaido swordsman to come train with him and temper his dark urges but was rebuffed by the self-loathing Genshu.
He would be defeated and killed in the duel by that followed. Genshu recognized him as a highly skilled swordsman and the antithesis of his own pathetic nature.
The body would be returned to Liu Mei, who would take up her father's sword, Genbu, in order to extract vengeance on his killer. When attempting to take revenge on Genshu, Liu Mei would hear her father's voice through the sword and rejected vengeance in his name.
