The perpetual day (くりかえす一日, kurikaesu tsuitachi) is an event in Suikoden Tierkreis. It is the form of living that anyone in the One King's world experiences.

Information

While the Order of the One True Way preached that the realization of the One True Way, and the advent of the One King, would end uncertainty and strife, this was not achieved through prediction or knowledge of the future as implied by their methods.

When twelve world fusions occurred on a world, the One King would appear, infusing that world to his own, locking it in what was referred to as the "perpetual day". Anyone in the One King's world would experience the same day, usually the happiest or most content day of their life to date, repeatedly forever.

In this sense, the perpetual day created a literal world without a future for all who experienced it. Seemingly, only Starbearers and other folk with advanced knowledge or interaction with Chronicles, such as Valfred, could become aware they were locked in a perpetual day.

Although the Company could not prevent the advent of the perpetual day, the Starbearers were able to exit it after realizing their circumstances, returning to their own world. From there, they would plan their final assault on the One King, storming the Statue of the One King in Cynas, now directly linked to the One King's world.

Specific perpetual days

Although people from each other's lives could appear in someone's perpetual day, they do not appear to be the 'real' person. For example, the hero, Marica, and Liu all had different experiences of the perpetual day, despite each being present in the other's. However, they may also share the same space but experience things differently: the other members of the Citro Village Defense Corps realized something was wrong with the hero did not turn up for their daily patrol in their respective perpetual days.

  • The hero's perpetual day was the day before his 15th birthday, a day of friendship and community with everyone in Citro Village.
  • Marica's perpetual day involved her mother still being alive.
  • Liu's perpetual day involved a tattoo-less Len-Lien.
  • Rajim's perpetual day was completely distinct from the hero's.
  • Nofret's perpetual day was one of her days in the Janam Desert following the 10th world fusion.

  • Eunice's perpetual day was a day with her family in El-Qaral before the 10th world fusion.
  • Roberto's perpetual day was from when the king and queen of Astrasia were still alive.
  • Chrodechild's was similarly implied to be of Astrasia before its fall.
  • Tongatihi's perpetual day was of him getting headaches while pondering how to install windows in the Corridor.
  • Gilliam's perpetual day was of Grayridge before it became associated with the Order.
  • Nakil's perpetual day involved the Magedom before the 10th world fusion.
  • Hafin's perpetual day was spent in his village before its erasure by the 10th world fusion.
  • Asad's perpetual day is implied by Hafin to also involve his family before Janam's erasure.
  • Minen's perpetual day was spent in Ritterschild. It is implied that Buchse and Geschutz's days were similar.
  • Yomi's perpetual day was spent back in the Empire of the North Star.
