Rizwan (リズラン, Rizuran) is a character in Suikoden Tierkreis. Rizwan is the 2nd Empress Consort of the Magedom of Janam and the head of its Arcane Academy.
History
Rizwan was the 2nd Empress Consort to Mage Lord Danash VIII and was also the mother of Manaril. She headed the Arcane Academy but was often accused of being a "cold-blooded snake" as she gained the position by expelling the former head, and her teacher, Nuzhat.
In order to safeguard her position within the Magedom, Rizwan exploited Manaril's ability as a reader to the limit, bringing her child close to death. However, when the furious Company took Manaril from the Academy, Rizwan made no move to stop them. In fact, she seemed relieved as a mother, once the party had departed.
When the Order of the One True Way attempted to use the 10th world fusion to completely wipe out the Magedom, Rizwan figured out what was happening almost immediately. She was able to expend the power of the Chronicle of the Ancient Covenant to resist the fusion, allowing Salsabil to survive and for El-Qaral to be destroyed but not completely erased, reinterpreted by the True Chronicle as the Janam Desert.
In the ruins of the Arcane Academy, Manaril and Shams were able to encounter a ghostly apparition of Rizwan. This spirit seemed to entrust Manaril into Shams' care before disappearing for good.
