Nightmare (マジシャン, Majishan, Magician) is an enemy which appears in Suikoden.
Nightmares are skilled magic users, using a variety of elemental magic that can quickly catch a party off guard if unprepared. There is the possibility that they will heal the player's party, however.
Information
A clown-type monster hiding in a card that was seen in Soniere Prison. It can freely manipulate fire, wind, and water magic, but decides which one to use by the picture on the card that appears. It is therefore considered to have a very capricious personality, although still dangerous due to its high magical ability.
Nightmares are also the only source of the Opal, necessary to recruit Esmeralda in Antei.
