Genshu worked in Ling Hua Town for a time

Ling Hua Town (リンホアの街, Rinhoa no Machi) is a location that appears in Genso Suikoden Short Story Collection 4.

Information

Genshu worked for a time in the port town of Ling Hua, whose exact location is unknown, as a sellsword during the Gate Rune War, some time after the death of his brother, Tesshu.

The city was apparently very distant from the Scarlet Moon Empire. Katana sake proved popular in Ling Hua, although the town also produced its own brand.

The town's entertainment district was one of the biggest in the region. Streets were lit up with paper lanterns at storefronts there.

Lacking a strong tradition of martial arts, the soldiers in this town were of poor quality with only the desperate or displaced ever becoming soldiers. It was not unusual for them to start trouble in bars, pick fights with travelers, and extort money when they could.

Trivia

  • Ling Hua, as well as the handful of named characters who live in the same nation, have faux-Chinese names, presumably to juxtapose it with the Japanese-influenced Katana.
