Gillan (ギラン, Giran) is a character in Genso Suikoden Short Story Collection 2. He was an officer of the Scarlet Moon Imperial Army.
History
Gillan was Humphrey Mintz's superior officer during the latter's time as an Imperial Army soldier. He had achieved his rank as a commander due to his bloodline but had little combat experience, having not wielded a sword in years, leaving him heavyset.
He tried to take advantage of a dragon disturbance in his territory, plotting to become a dragon-slaying hero. He reluctantly decided to bring the Knights of the Dragon's Den into his plans when the soldiers he dispatched failed to return.
He also planned to make money by selling the meat and liver from the corpse of the dragon, which is why he insisted Humphrey bring back the corpse of any dragon he defeated. Both plans were foiled when Humphrey burned the corpse of Sterling, leaving Gillan with no evidence to profit from.
