Kirkis Shana Ques Laviankaana (キルキス・シャナ・クエス・ラビアンカーナ, Kirukisu Shana Kuesu Rabiankāna), also known simply as Kirkis, is a supporting character in Suikoden. Kirkis is an elf who attempted to prevent the destruction of the Village of the Elves.
History
|
Kirkis was an idealistic elf who hated the prejudice that existed between the races inhabiting the Great Forest, wishing for peaceful cooperation between elves, dwarves and humans. As elves were traditionally disdainful of other races, his attitude was considered quite radical and was generally viewed with suspicion and mockery.
Hearing rumors of the Burning Mirror, Kirkis journeyed to ask the Toran Liberation Army for help against Kwanda Rosman, who was plotting to destroy the Village of the Elves, running from his village and swimming all the way across Lake Toran, nearly drowning in the process.
Despite his best efforts, and the aid of the Liberation Army, the village was indeed destroyed, by Kwanda's Burning Mirror. Following the Battle at Pannu Yakuta Castle, he would join the Liberation Army along with his sweetheart Sylvina, continuing to fight for peace.
Following the Gate Rune War, Kirkis worked for the restoration of the Village of the Elves and made gradual progress in his goal of reducing prejudice in the elven population. He would marry Sylvina and eventually become Village Elder. His talk of cooperation meant that people of all races would help in his village's reconstruction, elves, dwarves, kobolds and humans alike.
