Whack-A-Mole (もぐらたたき, Mogura-tataki) is a mini-game that appears in Suikoden II.

Information

This game was invented by Tony and formed part of his daily routine at the New State Army Headquarters. As the name suggests, participants hit the moles that pop out of holes in the fields one by one with a hammer.

The game required keen reflexes and judgment on behalf of the participant. Particularly skillful whackers of moles could even receive rewards from Tony.

Rules

The player press the button that corresponds to each hole to whack the moles that appear. The player chooses the difficulty level at the start of the game, and will receive a prize for that difficulty level when they clear the level.

There are three types of moles that appear, and they go in and out of the holes at different speeds, adding an element of timing to the game. The game lasts for 60 seconds, or until the player misses three moles, whichever happens first. If a player hits a woodchuck, this also counts as a miss.

In Ultimate Mode, the game ends after a single miss.
