Vaslof (ヴァズロフ, Vuazurofu) is a major character in Suikoden Tierkreis. Vaslof is an Auster Folk general who represents his race as a member of the Order of the One True Way.

History

Vaslof is a proud warrior who represents his people, the Auster Folk as a member of the Order of the One True Way. He works for the Order alongside his wife, Resno, due to the Auster Folk belief that the two groups had compatible philosophies.

He first met the hero in the city of Cynas, thinking him a mere child who was being bullied by Fergus and Conon. His interference would inadvertently allow the group to the escape the city with their Chronicle of the Shining Legacy intact.

Vaslof would encounter the Company again at Ladzaa Fortress, where the two would meet in battle. Despite Vaslof's overwhelming ability, he would recognize the power and proficiency of the hero and his comrades.

As the war continued, Vaslof would continue to fight for the Order, though he would grow suspicious of events following the arrival of the 10th world. With the Magedom of Janam erased, this created inconsistencies in his memories of events. Still, he would continue to fight the Company until his defeat at Fort Arc.

Following this, he comes into contact with the Mark of the Stars, allowing him to see the truth of the Order's ways and marking him as a Starbearer. Realizing that the Order's claims of compatibility with the Auster Folk was a lie, he would join the Company.

As a proven leader, Vaslof played a key forward role in the remainder of the war. He would often fight on the front lines during several vital missions, including the battle to rescue Sophia from the Order's clutches.

Following the end of the war, he would be made responsible for the defense of Cynas during its reconstruction. There, he worked hard to make Cynas a city where people of all types could live and coexist.
