The Lake Fortress (湖の砦, Mizūmi no Toride) is a location in Genso Suikoden Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki. It becomes the headquarters of the hero's forces throughout the game.
Information
Located near Therbe Village, this small fortress served as a defensive bastion for the area against the Teras Pharma, most notably in HIY 200 when the hero Thorwad Albreck used the fortress as he and his allies base of operations during that century's Teras Pharma conflict.
Over the following decades the fortress would fall into abandonment and disrepair with Soldier Boars in particular causing great damage. By HIY 300, the hero and Myra would use the ruins for training, fighting Soldier Boars there. Following the appearance of the Teras Pharma, the ruins became a refuge from them, thanks to the Era Tree nearby.
After meeting Thorwad in the past, he would make special pains as to the importance of the fortress. Upon returning to the present the hero and Myra would find the fortress restored, it now having been maintained over the century. Lulusa had a kitchen there and Gino worked from a magicite workshop.
As the hero's group grew and evolved into the Company, Chief Hagar Biarki would bequeath the fortress to his forces. The Company would rename the fortress and operate it out of it for the remainder of their conflict with the Vermilion Axe and the Holy Empire of Ionia.
