Located in the far northeastern expanses of the land, Therbe is a frontier village as nothing to the east of it is known. Despite being an isolated provincial village, it had a measure of renown for being the home of the hero Thorwad Albreck, who helped protect the area during the Teras Pharma attack of HIY 200.
On the fringes of Ionian influence, it considered itself nominally independent and resisted attempts by the Ionian Army 4th Branch to strongarm its cooperation against the impending threat of the centennial monsters. When the monsters first appeared, the village would be overwhelmed and wiped out.
However, the planting of an Era Tree in Therbe by Thorwad in the past would repel the monsters, changing that version of history. As such, Therbe Village would survive and continue to support the hero's decision to fight the rising Vermilion Axe from the nearby Lake Fortress.
Following the fall of the Holy Empire, Therbe would no longer mark the eastern frontier of civilization as emigration caravans would begin to sally forth to explore, both in HIY 300 and 200.
