Kong Long (コンロン, Konron) is a character from Genso Suikoden Short Story Collection 2. He was a swordmaster and an instructor of Valeria.
History
Kong Long was a master of the Seven Star Sword style and the master of Valeria and is described as a small, old man wearing a black cape that reaches his calves. In the past, he had also apparently tutored Valeria's father in fencing.
He hailed from the south and 20 years prior had served in the court of Michelan Rugner, Emperor of the Scarlet Moon Empire , by invitation after winning a royal tournament. He eventually resigned due to his distaste for political power struggles, much to the rage of the many officials who had tried to take advantage of his skill.
With the changing of the guard that came with the death of Michelan, Kong Long was on his way to Gregminster to visit a friend when he helped a 14 year old Valeria defeat a boar, gaining revenge for her mother. Following this, he stayed for some time near Valeria's home village, training her in the ways of the sword.
When word came that Kong Long was staying with Valeria, many came to him for advice, including the chief of the Great Forest Village. He gave advice freely and was respected by all.
He claimed to sometimes have premonitions and predicated that Valeria would have a big future, outside the scope of her small home village. After training her for a summer, he would gift her her father's reforged Star Sword and left to continue his journey.
