Milia (ミリア, Miria) is a supporting character in Suikoden. Milia is the partner of Thrash and the Captain of the Dragon Knights.

Milia is a Dragon Knight who was Vice-Commander of the Dragon Knights under the command of Joshua Levenheit at the time of the Gate Rune War. Milia was the first to encounter the Toran Liberation Army when they stumbled into the Dragon's Den; not recognizing Tir McDohl, she accused the Toran Liberation Army members of being thieves[1]. After Futch recognized Tir, Milia asked what business the Toran Liberation Army had in their domain[2]. After the Toran Liberation Army witnessed the sleeping dragons, Milia had little choice but to report them to Joshua Levenheit, the Commander of the Dragon Knights[3]. After directing them to the Dragon Knights' Fortress, Milia ran ahead to alert Joshua Levenheit to their arrival[4].
When the Toran Liberation Army brought Liukan to inspect the dragons, Milia volunteered to take Tir and his party to Seek Valley in order to find a needed ingredient for an antidote, the Moonlight weed[5]. After helping Tir McDohl beat the Crystal Core, Milia and Tir finally found and identified the Moonlight Weed[6] and then quickly bought the Moonlight Weed back to Liukan[7].
After they returned, they were sent on another mission, this one to rescue Futch and Black, who had rushed off to get the second ingredient need for the antidote, the Black dragon orchid. Unfortunately, by the time they reached them, Black was dead, but they managed to save Futch, who held the black dragon orchid in his hands[8]. Although Futch was forced to leave the Dragon Knights after losing Black, Milia urged him not to blame himself[9].
When the Dragon Knights joined in an alliance with the Toran Liberation Army, Milia travelled to Toran Castle, aiding the Toran Liberation Army for the duration of the war. Though she worried about the dragons while staying at Toran Castle[10], Milia aided the Toran Liberation Army in battles; prior to the Battle at Floating Fortress Shasarazade, Milia even allowed Mathiu Silverberg to use Thrash's breath to make 500 ice boats to attack Shasarazade[11].
Following the end of the Gate Rune War, Milia resumed her duties at the Dragon's Den as Vice-Commander of the Dragon Knights[12].
Trivia
- Milia's weapon upgrades as Valkyrie, Valhalla, and Brunhildt, which are all characters or terms from Norse mythology. The Valkyries were the choosers of the slain who escorted those who died in battle to Valhalla. Valhalla was the majestic hall where those slain in battle were allowed to spend the afterlife. Brunhildt is a mangling of Brunhild,who was a valkyrie doomed to live a mortal life and married Gunnar/Gunther after being rescued by Sigurðr/Sigfreid.
