—  Kage

Kage is a ninja who was employed by a number of organisations during the Gate Rune War. He was hired by the Toran Liberation Army to deliver plans for the Fire Spear to the army's Secret Factory[1]. He also broke into the Dwarves' Vault and stole plans for the Burning Mirror which he delivered to Kwanda Rosman[2]. Although a true mercenary for hire[3], Kage stated he never betrayed a contract[4] and gave his loyalty to those who accepted his worth[5]. As such he considered himself neither allied with the Liberation or Imperial Army[6].

Later during the war, Kage was found by Hero (Suikoden) at the Secret Factory where he agreed to join the force for the remainder of the war for the fee of 20,000 potch[7]. Following the fall of the Scarlet Moon Empire, Kage vanished, stating that his contract was up[8].
