Rhetto Fortress (レツトの砦, Retsuto no Toride) is a location mentioned in Suikoden II. It was the site of a prominent victory for General Kiba Windamier.
Information

Rhetto Fortress was a hilltop fortress located in a forest near the Muse-Highland border. It was an old, wooden building and had been used as the base from which the Highland Army began the Jowston-Highland war.
In SY 434, at the height of the war, the fort was under the command of a young Kiba Windamier. Kiba had been placed in command due to his family name and loss of experienced generals as the war began to turn against Highland.
The fort came under attack by the advancing Jowston forces, who were pursuing King Robert Blight. By using his 100 men (who remained after an additional 100 deserted the post) effectively, Kiba was able to repel the Jowston force, buying time for King Robert to return to Highland territory.
Though the victory propelled Kiba to fame, he had bitter memories of the battle. He had lost most of his men in the defense, a necessity to make the Jowston army believe there was a larger contingent at the fort. As such, he refused all military honors offered for the battle.
Since then, the fortress declined in use and by SY 455 was abandoned and dilapidated, exposed to the elements.
