Beryl (ベリル, Beriru), usually written as King Beryl (ベリル王, Beriru Ou), is a character who appears in supplemental materials concerning Suikoden II. He was the king of the Dunan Monarchy.

History

Beryl was the fourth ruler of the Dunan Monarchy and was considered the monarch who rejuvenated the ruling dynasty. Under his rule and skilled governance, the Dunan Monarchy reached its greatest heights during his reign.

However, his peaceful rule led to the deterioration of the army and following his reign, the Dunan Monarchy began to collapse.

Trivia

• The Genso Suikoden Encyclopaedia and Genso Suikoden I&II Official World Guide Book lists him as the fourth ruler of the Dunan Monarchy, while the Genso Shinsho says he is the third ruler. This is due to some poor phrasing in the World Guide Book which carried over to the Genso Shinsho.
