South Window Principality (サウスウィンドゥ市国, Sausu Windou Shikuni, South Window City-State) is a region in Suikoden II. It is a constituent city-state of the City-States of Jowston.

Overview

South Window Principality lies south of Lake Dunan and in the past was the center of the Dunan Monarchy. As South Window lies in a temperate area, the climate is generally mild.

To the east lies eastern Muse Principality and in the west lies Two River Principality. To the south lies the Karakas Desert and the border with the Toran Republic.

Civil war would break out in SY 250. By 252, the revolt would succeed and South Window Principality would be established under a mayoral system.

The city-state would later become one of the founding members of the City-States of Jowston in 314. Due to its location, it bore the brunt of conflicts with the southern Scarlet Moon Empire and so was the city-state that was the most distrustful of the southern nation.

In 447, South Window would join Tinto Principality in an invasion of Scarlet Moon in the aftermath of their War of Succession but were eventually repelled. In 456, during the Gate Rune War, they and Tinto would occupy Senan for a time but were eventually pushed out by the new Toran Republic by 458.

The city-state would collapse early in the Dunan Unification War of 460 with the Highland Kingdom invasion. However, its lands would be liberated and become the center of the New Alliance Army, giving it a key role in the war.

Following the war, the former principality would join the new Dunan Republic.
