The Mercenary Fortress (傭兵砦, Youhei Toride) is a location in Suikoden II.
Information
This mercenary fortress was built with the assistance of Muse City following the Gate Rune War. Viktor served as the leader of the soldiers stationed there with Flik serving as his second-in-command.
However, the fortress would fall early in the Dunan Unification War to the onslaught of the Highland Army under Luca Blight. Viktor was able to prevent the fortress' occupation by setting it ablaze. It would be occupied by the New State Army late in the war in order to divide the forces of the Highland Army.
In a sense, the officers of the Mercenary Fortress could be considered the forbearers to the New State Army.
