Biography

Background

I don't have to tell you that.

—  Luc

Ten years prior to the Dunan Unification War, Luc ran into some form of trouble at the shrine in the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia. He did not talk about it and was always careful not to discuss it[2].

Suikoden

I'm Luc, Lady Leknaat's number one apprentice.

—  Luc

Luc is a powerful young mage in service to Leknaat. Luc lived on Magician's Island with Leknaat; during the Gate Rune War, Luc surprised Tir McDohl and his party, noting that it was rare to have visitors on Magician's Island and that he would need to prepare an appropriate welcome[3]. Using the power of his Wind Rune[4], Luc summoned a Golem for Tir McDohl and his party to fight.

After Tir and his party managed to beat the Golem, Luc, impressed that they had managed to beat his magic so quickly[5], told them that the Golem had merely been a test, and that he would now lead them to Leknaat[6]. After Leknaat gave Tir and his party the Astral Conclusions, she asked Luc to teleport them to the shore without any sort of trickery[7], which Luc promised that he would do[8].

When the Toran Liberation Army acquired Toran Castle, Luc joined the Toran Liberation Army on the request of Leknaat, who told Tir McDohl that Luc's power would come in handy[9]. Luc stood guard over the Stone Tablet of Promise for the duration of the war.

Following the end of the Toran Liberation War, Luc disappeared with Leknaat[10].

Suikoden II

That's right. You should be embarrassed losing your temper like that.

—  Luc

When Leknaat gifted the New State Army the Stone Tablet of Promise during the Dunan Unification War, she also gifted them Luc, despite his own consternation[11]. However, Luc was focused when he noticed the presence of the Harmonian officer Sasarai in a skirmish at Radat. Following the battle, he revealed that he knew Sasarai well and told the New State Army to let him deal with him[12].

Following the war, he considered his role ended and return to Lady Leknaat's service[13].

Trivia

  • In the English version of Suikoden, when he summons the Golem, Luc merely calls it forth with a wind rune[14], but in the Japanese version, he uses the True Wind Rune to do so[15].
