Kirkis Shana Ques Laviankaana (キルキス・シャナ・クエス・ラビアンカーナ, Kirukisu Shana Kuesu Rabiankāna), also known simply as Kirkis, is a supporting character in Suikoden. Kirkis is an elf who attempted to prevent the destruction of Lukie Ende Towayo.

Kirkis is an idealistic elf who believed that Kwanda Rosman was planning to exterminate Lukie Ende Towayo, the tree that bore the Village of the Elves. Leaving Lukie Ende Towayo without permission, Kirkis journeyed to Toran Castle, passing out at the dock of Toran Castle after swimming the way there[1]. After awakening, Kirkis begged Tir McDohl and the Toran Liberation Army to help Lukie Ende Towayo[2].Though lacking the manpower to launch a military assault against Kwanda Rosman, the Toran Liberation Army agreed to send a covert unit to investigate Kirkis' claims.
Kirkis led Tir McDohl's party back to Lukiae Ende Towayo, but they received a rather cold reception from the Chief of the Elves, who was unconvinced that Kwanda represented any great danger[3]. The Chief of the Elves was further angered by the fact Kirkis left Lukiae Ende Towayo without permission and dared to bring back humans, and so imprisoned Kirkis and his party[4].
Sylvina, Kirkis' lover, was extremely upset by the Chief of the Elves' decision[5] and came to see him while he was held prisoner. Though she did not understand Kirkis' more idealistic racial attitude[6], she freed Kirkis and the others. Before travelling onward to the Village of the Dwarves, Kirkis promised Sylvina that he would return to her[7].
Kirkis, Tir McDohl, and the others were able to meet with the Chief of the Dwarves, with whom they were able to eventually secure an alliance with. However, on their way back to Lukiae Ende Towayo, they saw the Great Forest burning, in the same direction as that of Lukiae Ende Towayo. When they arrived at Lukiae Ende Towayo, their greatest fear was realized: In their absense, Kwanda Rosman had fired the Burning Mirror, burning Lukiae Ende Towayo and decimating the elven population. Kirkis took the devastation especially hard[8], mourning the loss of everything he had tried to protect[9], especially Sylvina[10]. After being consoled by Gremio, Kirkis and the others headed for Toran Castle so they could regroup in order to defeat Kwanda Rosman.
While crossing through Kobold Village, Kirkis and the others were ambushed by Scarlet Moon Empire soldiers. Though they held out against the Scarlet Moon Empire soldiers for a time, the Scarlet Moon Empire's superior numbers gradually tipped the scales in their favour. Luckily, Mathiu Silverberg, along with reinforcements from the Toran Liberation army, quickly came to relieve them. Stallion and Sylvina had warned Mathiu of the dangers of the Burning Mirror and, Kirkis, much to his shock, was quickly reunited with a delighted Sylvina[11] and Kirkis appeared to reveal his intention to marry Sylvina[12][13].
As the Toran Liberation Army attacked Pannu Yakuta Castle, Kwanda Rosman's citadel, Kirkis swore that Kwanda would pay for destroying Lukiae Ende Towayo[14], and the Toran Liberation Army proved victorious in the Battle at Pannu Yakuta Castle.
Following Kwanda's defeat, Kirkis asked to join the Toran Liberation Army[15], as did Sylvina, who promised to stay by Kirkis forever[16].
Kirkis continued to serve the Toran Liberation Army throughout the Gate Rune War, acting as a scout prior to the last battle[17]. During the course of the Toran Liberation War, Kirkis was reunited with his acquaintance Rubi, who congratulated Kirkis for becoming a great warrior[18].
Following the end of the Toran Liberation War, Kirkis helped to rebuild Lukiae Ende Towayo[19] and married Sylvina[20] and welcomed Rubi back into Lukiae Ende Towayo[21]. By the time of the Dunan Unification War, Kirkis had become the Village Elder of Lukiae Ende Towayo.
