Gadget Rune

The Gadget Rune (からくりの紋章, Karakuri no Monshō), translated as Trick Rune in Suikoden and Suikoden II, is a rune which appears in several games of the Suikoden series.

Information

This rune was attached to Juppo during the Gate Rune War. The rune gave the bearer the ability to control and manipulate a mechanical doll. These dolls do not function without the use of the rune.

Meg would later inherit the rune from Juppo, using it during the Dunan Unification War.

Trivia

  • Called the Trick Rune in the first two games, the Japanese word karakuri does mean trick, but it is also a term used for mechanical dolls and string puppets and forms part of the Japanese name for Gadget and Gadget Z.
