The Dunan Republic (デュナン共和国, Deyunan Kyōwakoku) is a country located in the eastern region of the northern continent. It was established as the successor state of both the City-State of Jowston and the Highland Kingdom at the end of Suikoden II.

Information

The Dunan Republic was formed from the victorious New State Army after the Dunan Unification War. It is a vast nation centerd around Lake Dunan, incorporating the territories of the old City-State of Jowston and the former Highland Kingdom.

It was expected that the leader of the New State Army would be appointed President with the backing of the former City-State leaders but he left the nation around the time of its founding. Instead former Greenhill City Mayor Teresa Wisemail was appointed Acting President with Shu as her Chancellor.

Two years later, Teresa would be elected President by representatives of each city. Shu would step down from his position and Klaus Windamier would be appointed Chancellor in his place. In other regions of the country, Fitcher would become Mayor of Muse City and Miklotov would be appointed leader of the Matilda Knights.
