Ril (リル, Riru) is a character who appears in Genso Suikoden Short Story Collection 4. Ril was an inn maid considered a suspect in the attempted murder of Milan Fiori.
History
Ril was a young woman in her mid-teens who worked at the Lavender Village inn in Radat Town. She had freckles around her nose, and her hair was in a braid. She had large eyes and gave the impression of being a tomboy.
She was originally from a village near the Jowston border with Scarlet Moon but five years prior to the Milan Fiori incident, the village was razed by the Imperial Army. Her family was killed in front of her eyes and she never forgot the unique sword wielded by the officer leading the Scarlet Moon forces during that massacre.
Ril drifted from there and eventually came to Radat and began working at the Lavender Village. Glidden and Mei treated her like their own child.
Ril would see that sword once again when Milan Fiori came to stay at the inn. Using a Shredding Wind Scroll placed in his room, she set a trap for Milan in an attempt to kill him in a classic locked room mystery. Afterwards, when she learned of Milan's past she came to regret her actions although she still held complicated feelings about everything that happened.
In the end, to spare Ril, Milan and the others would pin the blame on Dogu who had been killed when he tried to cover up his own sordid past by attacking the people at the inn. Afterwards, Ril would leave for the Island Nations, hoping to put her painful past behind her.
When Richmond saw her off, she would ask him to take care of the last cat from a litter of kittens she had found. This cat would be Bianca.
