Strength (力, Chikara), abbreviated as STR and localized as Power (PWR) in Suikoden and Suikoden III, is a recurring stat in the Suikoden series that helps determines the strength of physical attacks.
Information
Strength, or Power, depending on the game, is a character's raw physical attack stat before a character's weapon is taken into account. It can usually be modified by other pieces of equipment, however. When the Strength stat is combined with the weapon's attack stat, the character's Attack is calculated.
In Suikoden V there is no separate Attack and Strength stats on the status screen, only the total Attack value is shown to the player, though a similar stat exists in the background.
The soft cap for Strength in most games of the Suikoden series from leveling up is 255, though most games will allow the player to push past this number with STR-boosting equipment.
