Type True Rune
Appears in

The Dragon Rune (竜の紋章, Ryū no Monshō) is one of the 27 True Runes. It is the rune of Joshua Levenheit and Milia.

Information

The Dragon rune is the rune that controls the existence of dragons within the world. Since dragons are of a different world, the loss of the rune would result in their death. The bearer of the Dragon Rune is also able to manipulate dragons more directly.

Traditionally, the rune is borne by the leader of the Knights of the Dragon's Den and is only passed on should its bearer die in an accident or voluntarily choose to pass away. The safety of the rune is so important that the leader of the knights never takes to the front lines, it is the vice-captain who always leads the Dragon Knights in battle.

Joshua Levenheit held the rune for some 200 years but by the time of the War of the Champions, the rune and leadership of the Dragon Knights had passed to Milia. The circumstances surrounding this are unknown.
