Kanaan (カナン, Kanan) is a minor antagonist in Suikoden. He is the Assistant Commander of the Imperial Guard and something of a negative symbol for the bloated Scarlet Moon Empire of the time.
Biography

Kanaan was Assistant Commander of the Imperial Guard under Kraze Miles and a typical example of a corrupt Imperial official of the time. As an officer, his only goal was to fill his own pockets, making him extremely susceptible to bribes.
His advancement came entirely from his irritating brand of flattery. After Kraze was demoted for being unable to capture McDohl, Kanaan served under Yuber for the remainder of the Gate Rune War.
Kanaan fled after the establishment of the Toran Republic, turning to a life of petty crime and fraud but was later arrested and imprisoned.
