—  Sancho

Sancho was the loyal squire of Maximilian and accompanied his master in his attempt to aid in the Toran Liberation Army's attack on Moravia. Encountering Hero (Suikoden) at the Northern Checkpoint, it was Sancho who recognised the leader of the Liberation Army and alerted his master to the fact[1] and tried to persuade Tir to allow Maximilian to aid the Liberation Army[2].

At Toran Castle, Sancho noted that his master's spirits had been raised as of late[3]. Following the end of the Gate Rune War, Sancho continued to serve his master[4] even after his retirement from the knighthood[5].

Trivia

  • Sancho has one of the few alternative endings in Suikoden. His ending will change if Maximilian dies in a war battle before completing the game. His new ending states "Puts flowers on his master's grave daily.[6]"
