The Mark of the Stars (星の印, Hoshi no Shirushi) are the form taken by skills in Suikoden Tierkreis. They were a special power bestowed by a False Chronicle to those considered Starbearers.
Information
Each time a Starbearer came into contact with a new Chronicle, the number of Marks they could use increased. This occured because the power once held by the Starbearers in each Chronicle's original world awakens within the Starbearers of the current world.
Therefore, Marks were predetermined for each specific star (e.g. The Tenkai Star would receive the Mark of the Stars of the Tenkai Star from the world the Chronicle originated on). Ultimately, this allowed Starbearers to acquire up to twelve different Marks of the Stars.
Compared to the Mage Arts of the Magedom of Janam, the Mark of the Stars were considered much more powerful and wide-ranging. Valfred was able to implant Marks of the Stars to chosen members of the Order of the One True Way by using the True Chronicle to extract them from False Chronicles, creating artifical Starbearers in the process.
